AGM

We will be holding our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on May 27th at the Dragon Fly Cafe from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. All members of the community are invited and memberships will be available at the meeting. Memberships are $15 for adults, $5 for school aged kids. We will be electing our board of directors, going over our finances and planning activities for this year.
Help us make our projects and society a success!

Thanks Salmo & Sutco!

We would like to say a BIG thank you to everyone in the Salmo Valley that supported our ski hill trail project at dot night. We are excited to be moving forward with this project and to see that the community is behind it too.

We would also like to say thank you to Sutco Contracting for their generous donation of $300 which will help us cover the cost of insurance required to get started on trail construction projects.

KP Park Update

pump track_Page_1We have had a slight change of plans for the weekend. To minimize the number of people that might be around while the machinery is working the machine will be on site from 10am and then we would like volunteers to come out for noon (12pm). This allows for 2 hours with few people to get most of the machine work done. The two main objectives are completing the big line of jumps and building the pump track. Attached is a diagram of the design we plan to follow. The first layout (triangle) will be the main design. The second design below has some good measurements that we can use as guide lines.

Shawn Burleigh will be leading the building for the weekend . If you have any questions you can contact him by email at shawnburleigh@live.ca or phone at 250-505-3670.

Dot Night Success!

Thanks to everyone that came out to Dot Night. At last count I think we had received about $3000 to put towards the ski hill trail project! This money will go towards purchasing a set of basic hand tools so volunteers don’t need to bring and buy their own and paying for a small machine to construct the sections of trail in the forested areas.

Have a great week everyone!

SVTS will be out at the bike skills area at KP Park this Saturday and Sunday April12 & 13 from 10am until around 2pm. The village has donated machine time again and one of the staff has volunteered to operate it so come on down to help finish up the last of the work. Tools to bring if you have them include shovels, rakes, wheel barrows and gloves. No need to come for the entire time just show up when you can and stay as long as you are able.
