See you there!!
I am so pleased to hear that the Panther Lake Trail is being maintained. Nearly thirty years ago, I supervised and worked with a 6 person crew that rebuilt the trail from Sheep Creek to Panther Lake.
We built the “Stairway to Heaven” – a facing stone stairway constructed from nearby talus rock. I saw my first Caribou at that talus site. We also constructed makeshift bridges crossing Panther Creek.
Huckleberries were fantastic and if you follow the trail to the East side of the lake, you will find immense, natural rock formations that you can camp in.
Thank you,
Dak Giles
Wow, thanks for all of your work 30 years ago!
Hopefully we can get back in for some more maintenance next year on this trail and more in the area.
I will try to pitch in with the 2015 maintenance – I just have to remember to track the web site. See you there!
